Intranets

We believe an intranet is a communication tool that fosters collaborative work, information exchange and vertical and horizontal feedback in the company’s internal structure.

How we think an intranet should be

Intranet is one of the most important collaborative and communicational tools within a company. It is generally cross-departmental, even across countries or regions. That is the main reason why it should delicately balance the organization’s main objectives and the specific needs of each region, area or even employee.

Added to its communicational complexity is its technological complexity.  Nowadays there are plenty of pre-designed and standardised tools and applications that can be applied relatively easily.  This makes development teams focus more on technology than on communication or collaboration needs within the company.

Our vision begins with the idea that an intranet is a communication tool targeted to a specific audience, with specific expectations and needs. That is why we work with a user-centered design methodology, which takes these needs and expectations into consideration and allows us to build a collaborative space focused on generating highly productive and satisfactory user experiences.

How we work when designing an intranet

How we develop an intranet

  • Through a user-centred design method
  • Involving project leaders and end-users
  • Using techniques such as qualitative interviews and tests with users.
  • Designing highly satisfactory communication and collaboration experiences.

We believe that project leaders (human resources, technology, communication, etc.) as well as end-users should participate in the process of developing and managing intranets.

That is why we use a user-centered design method when designing Intranets. This approach allows us to know the organisation's needs, but also those of its departments and employees.

Our aim is to offer highly satisfactory communication and collaboration experiences for end-users of the intranet. And we do it through friendly, intuitive and easy to use designs.

To get there we use specific techniques, such as:

  • Qualitative interviews
  • Work place surveys
  • Tests with users
  • Iterative prototyping
  • Usability test

The use of these techniques allows us to know the organisation's culture and the specific objectives of the Intranet, as well as the levels of knowledge, expectations and needs of the departments and employees.
